The Little Master

Recognised as the 'Little Master,' Tendulkar has made light of the expectations of millions of Indians to bestride the cricket world for more than 20 years and become the leading run-scorer and century maker in both Test and One Day International cricket. A consummate professional, his phenomenal aggregates in both forms of the game may remain unchallenged given changing trends within the game.

His potential for greatness was discovered in his maiden Test against Pakistan in 1989 when at the age of 16 he withstood the hostility of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. Mentally and physically strong and blessed with exceptional powers of concentration, Tendulkar's pragmatic style of batting has been compared with Don Bradman who was numbered among his countless admirers. His greatness has given India the impetus to become the game’s superpower.

'...it is hard to imagine any player in the history of the game who combines classical technique with raw aggression like the little champion does.' Sunil Gavaskar
'Sachin Tendulkar is, in my time, the best player without doubt - daylight second, Brian Lara third.' Shane Warne
